Clinical Treatment for Teenage Boys
Care That Connects Therapy With Everyday Life
Your son may be able to talk through a difficult situation in therapy and still struggle when it happens at home or school. At Live Strong House, we help him practice what he is learning with support from the adults around him.
At Live Strong House, a therapeutic boarding school for boys ages 15–18, licensed therapy is part of a structured residential program. Each student works toward individual goals, while life coaches and academic staff help him practice skills throughout the day.
A Team Working Toward Shared Goals
Your son’s therapist helps guide his clinical treatment. Life coaches support him in the home, while academic staff help him work through challenges that affect school.
These teams stay in communication so his care reflects how he is doing beyond scheduled sessions. If a student understands a coping skill but struggles to use it during a disagreement, that matters. It gives the team a clearer picture of where he needs more practice and guidance.
What Clinical Care Includes
Individual Therapy
One-on-one sessions give your son space to work with a licensed therapist on the challenges affecting him personally. His treatment reflects his needs and changes as he progresses.
Group Therapy
Group sessions are another part of your son’s clinical care. They provide a setting for therapeutic work alongside peers, supported by the broader structure of the program.
Family Therapy
Family therapy gives you and your son time to work on your relationship together. Families can participate through secure video sessions when they live far away.
Treatment Approaches
Our therapists draw from evidence-based approaches rather than using the same method for every student. The approach should fit your son’s needs and the goals of his treatment.
A Treatment Plan Built Around Your Son
Understanding your son comes before deciding what support he needs. During admissions, we review his clinical and academic history to help determine whether Live Strong House is an appropriate fit.
Once enrolled, his treatment plan gives the team shared goals to work toward. We return to those goals as he progresses, with attention to how he is applying what he learns.
Progress might mean asking for help before shutting down over an assignment. It might mean handling a difficult conversation with more patience. Those everyday moments help show where he is growing and where support is still needed.
Licensed Care and Clinical Oversight
Our clinical team includes licensed clinical social workers, with clinical leadership and primary therapists supporting each student’s care. You can learn about their credentials and experience on our team page.
Our admissions page also lists psychiatric services and oversight. If your son needs psychiatric support, ask admissions how those services are provided and whether the program can meet his needs.
Practicing Skills Beyond the Therapy Room
Learning to pause before reacting takes practice. A life coach can help your son use that skill when tension comes up with a housemate. Academic staff can support him when frustration makes it difficult to stay engaged with schoolwork.
That coordination connects treatment with the situations he needs help navigating. His therapist remains responsible for clinical work, while the people supporting his daily routine help reinforce shared goals.
Your Family Has a Role in Treatment
You know your son in ways we are still learning. Your perspective helps inform treatment planning and conversations about progress.
Parents receive updates and participate in family work while your son retains appropriate privacy in individual therapy. As he moves toward his next step, we work with your family to consider how his progress can carry into life at home.
Let’s Talk About the Care Your Son Needs
Choosing a program means understanding whether it offers the right level of support for your son. Live Strong House is a therapeutic boarding school, not an acute psychiatric facility or a locked treatment center. Our admissions team can discuss his needs and explain how our clinical support fits into daily life.
